“CHILDREN WIN AGAIN” WITH THODORIS & DIMITRIS

It is the third year that Dimitris Diamantithis and Thodoris Papaloukas, through their basketball shots make the children smile.

This year, they support the Pedology Department of Children`s Hospital in Penteli and the Society for Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum in Kastoria. So far the movement for children has offered 174.000 Euro.

Thodoris Papaloukas and Dimitris Diamantithis for the third consecutive ear, will count their basketball shots of love within the frame of the social campaign of WIND HELLAS “THE CHILDREN WINN”

The top Greek basketball players continue this year their cooperation with WIND exclusively for the campaign ‘THE CHILDREN WIN”, an initiative, which has indeed supported vulnerable social groups and local societies as well. This is the year that the two basketball players will be the leaders in this special initiative of love, by counting their basketball shots and supporting two social institutions.

In the following games until the end of the season-including the Cup Final, the Championship and Euro-league- the WIND will offer 100 Euro for every shot of Thodoris and Dimitris.

The money from Thodoris shots will go to the Pedology Department of Children`s hospital Pentelis for the restoration of two special rooms, so that better conditions will be ensured for the care and stay of the small invalids, whereas Dimitris chose to support the needs of restoring the rooms of the Day Center of the Society for Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum in Kastoria, his hometown.

The representatives of the two institutions, Mr. George Panos, president of the Society for the Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum in Kastoria and the coordinator Director of the Pedology Depatment of Children`s Hospital Pentelis Mrs Antigoni Papavasiliou, thanked WIND and the two players that support their task and they gave their word that they will use the collected money to cover the specific needs!

During the press conference the Director of Corporate Relations of WIND HELLAS, Mr. George Tsaprounis announced that this campaign will continue and said: “It is a big pleasure to continue for the third year our campaign THE CHILDREN WIN. Up to this day, through this initiative, we have offered 174.000 Euro to institutions and establishments for children. Especially in difficult times as the ones we are through now, it is very important for all of us to show- in any way anyyone can- our support and help to our fellow men in need. I would like to thank Thodoris and Dimitris, who once again this year, embraced our effort in order to offer all together a smile to children, those ones who get help at the Pedology Department in the Children`s Hospital Pentelis and the others from the Society for Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum, in Kastoria.”

Dimitris Diamantithis said: I am very glad, that for the third year the campaign THE CHILDREN WIN, goes on. This year, as in the previous ones, each one of us, will shoot in the court, doing our best for a very important social goal. Like the first year of the campaign, all money from my shots will go to the social society of my hometown. This is the Society for Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum in Kastoria. Through that effort WIND and me personally, stand by the side of the children and adolescents of Kastoria and their families as well, who need our help in their everyday struggle to better their lives”.

Thodoris Papaloukas said: “The cooperation with WIND started four years ago and every season is becoming more and more active in social activities. Through its campaign “CHILDREN WIN”, supported by WIND, we better the life of our fellow men. I do consider very important, that when I score a shot I am not useful only for my team but for the children as well. The collected money from my shots will be offered for the needs of the Pedology Department of Children`s Hospital Penteli. It is our duty to help children in any way we can, so that we can offer them a better future.”

In the first year that the two players cooperated on the campaign “CHILDREN WIN”, children in the Chatzikyriakio Institution for Children`s Protection in Piraeus and the children of the Society for Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum in Kastoria could have a big smile, whereas during the basketball season last year the international top players scored their shots for the children of the Acharnon Municipality and for the construction of a basketball court in their district.

In total WIND, through the campaign “CHILDREN WIN”, which started to take place in 2008 in cooperation with players and basketball-football teams, has offered to institutions for children the sum of 174.000 Euro. The institutions that have been supported are: “Center for Children “Zoodochos Pigi” & Center for Children “Agios Spyridon” in Iraklio Kreta, Psychological Center in Xanthi, Chatzikyriakio Institution for Children`s Protection in Piraeus, Society for Protection of Persons in the Autistic Spectrum in Kastoria, Municipality of Acharnon, Institution “The Kivotos tou Kosmou” in Athens.
